BAPTISM

At Harmonie Church, all infants, children, and adults are welcome to be baptized. Baptism declares you are a follower of Jesus Christ.

 

It is a public confession of vows of your faith in, and commitment to, Jesus Christ. This Christian Sacrament is marked by the ritual use of water and being admitted into the Christian Community. Baptism allows us to demonstrate our connection with Jesus Christ and our brothers and sisters in Christ. Baptism is a sign of regeneration or the new birth. It is an outward sign of inward grace and the washing away of our sin.

Matthew 3:11  (John the Baptist)

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worth to carry; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”

“And when Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and alighting on him; and lo, a voice from heaven saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
